Grumpy in Madeira

So after our misadventures with the car, we’re going to chill out at home with a BBQ.

Maria is picking up the princesses Laura & Bella early. Mack & Annie are coming a little later around lunchtime. Then Ruebin & Nadia after work 6ish.

It’s beautiful today 26 degrees, the pool is up nice and early, food prepped and drinks chilled.

The girls can’t wait to get in the pool.

It’s a great day, the music is fantastic. We had on Gold Radio. It’s a great UK radio station that plays all the old classics.

It’s perfect for old classics like Mack and I.

We had a brilliant time singing (howling) to the horror of the girls and the amusement of some of the locals.

With the drinks flowing and lovely food, the weather was fantastic. It wasn’t long before Maria was in the pool too with her G&T.

Even the dogs Smokey & Bandit enjoyed themselves. They had lots of nibbles and rib bones.

Bandit enjoys giving a foot spa to any guests (that can stand it). Smokey not so much.

He’s really good at it. He gets right in there between the toes hahaha

Maria thinks it’s disgusting 🤢

One time Sadie, Maria’s niece was visiting from South Africa and she loved it. She nearly fell asleep with both feet getting done.

She had Bandit licking away any chance she got. It happened so often that I’m surprised her feet didn’t go wrinkly.

It was a great day and a welcome distraction to the last few days and the car trouble.

All good things must come to an end and this day did too.

Earlier for some than others.

As usual we cleaned up at the end of the night. Then Maria and I had ourselves another little party.

It’s really for health and safety reasons.

We have to make sure the fire goes out.

That’s our excuse anyway and we’re sticking to it.
