Grumpy in Madeira

It’s my sis’s 60th birthday today. PARABENS, FELIZ ANIVERSARIO 🥳

There is a place on Madeira that everyone visits, it’s a glass viewing platform. It is over 580m above sea level and attracts up to 1800 people per day. If you want spectacular views, then it’s a must see. Cabo Girao

We drove to Ribeira Brava. It is a nice seaside village along the south coast. It’s about a 10 min drive from the platform. It has nice restaurants, bars and cafes.

We sometimes take the girls there to a cafe that has a kiddies pool next to it. Today we wandered around the market. It’s a farmers market, the produce is nice and fresh. We bought some fruit and veggies and of course we bought MORE plants. 🪴 😡

I needed a beer or three!!!!

We like to give Smokey & Bandit a bone when we go out. This keeps them busy. Hopefully, it makes Smokey’s teeth blunt.

Today when we got back, I thought Smokey had eaten Bandit. I wouldn’t put it past him. It looked like a graveyard.

Bandit was fine, by the way!

As it’s a special day, we’re taking the birthday girl to another of our favourite restaurants. It’s up in the mountains of Camacha.

It is an absolutely beautiful place. Service is great. Food is great. Atmosphere is great. Menu choice is great. Of course, the choice of Vinho is great.

I had Rabbit, Maria had Tuna, Tony had Venison and sis had Goat. DELLLIIISSHH !!!! Abrigo do Pastor.

We never had room for dessert.

We did have a nightcap though.

Trust me, it definitely tastes better than it sounds.
